The sound of water could be heard from the room right next to him; then Sousuke came back.
Sousuke looked suspiciously at Satori who was playing with the springs of the sofa.

“How are you feeling? Do you feel better now?”

“Mm.”

Towards the nodding Satori, Sousuke gave a doubtful expression.

“Excuse me for a bit.”

Sousuke gently lifted the long bangs that always hid Satori’s face with his fingertips.
Satori felt a cold sensation of the air on his forehead.

“ ! ”

Sousuke slightly tilted his head.

(I guess his complexion has gotten better now.)

Satori was surprised.
He was frozen and couldn’t move even an inch, his eyes wide open as he stared at Sousuke.
It was the first time he had ever made such close eye contact with someone.

Sousuke noticed Satori’s gaze and blinked his eyes quickly as if he realized something, then looked away awkwardly.

“Sorry for touching you so suddenly.”

He turned his back to Satori, then headed towards the kitchen.

(I was surprised because he looked at me with those clear, glass-like eyes…)

Satori felt dejected when he sensed a small hint of agitation coming from Sousuke’s back.
He thought that Sousuke felt creeped out by his stares, and he dropped his shoulder.

“Here, a refreshment drink.
You better rehydrate just in case.”

While saying that, Sousuke handed him a container with some kind of liquid in it.
Satori just stared at the container that Sousuke had handed him.
He tilted his head slightly.
When he was about to take a bite out of it, a shocked Sousuke stopped him.

“Whoa…! What are you doing?!”

“…It’s hard.”

And it doesn’t taste good at all.

“How could someone bite the bottle just like that…?!”

Satori looked at Sousuke reproachfully when the thing he had just gotten from him was taken away.

(Are you for real…?)

“…Look.
This is how you do it.”

Sousuke twisted the lid-like thing that was on the tip of the container and removed it.

Satori tilted his head once again and sniffed the smell of the slightly colored liquid.
It was odorless.
He stuck out his tongue and licked it with a cautious face.

“…!”

It’s good! It’s good! I don’t know why, but it tasted really good!

“Sousuke, it tastes good! This water has a flavor! I don’t know why, but it tastes really good! How about you drink some?”

If Satori had been a spirit in an animal form, he would have wagged his tail in the air by now.
It was obvious that he was very happy.
Satori was relieved that he hadn’t gotten into such an embarrassing situation.
When he turned around, Sousuke had a terribly tired look on his face.

“…No.
I’m good …Ah, don’t drink it all at once.
What are you, a kid? Come on, drink it slowly or you’ll choke.”

(He makes me tired…)

Satori became dejected as those words fell out of Sousuke’s mouth.
He quietly took his mouth away from the container.
Sousuke, who was still sitting on the sofa, looked at Satori curiously.

“What’s wrong? There’s still some of it left.”

“…Mm.
I’ve had enough.
I’m full.”

Sousuke raised his eyebrows slightly.
He didn’t seem to believe Satori’s words.

(Does he eat properly with a thin body like that…?)

Even when they were talking like this, Sousuke didn’t seem to remember who Satori was.
Satori couldn’t help but feel sad about it.
Even so, the words coming from Sousuke were so gentle that it made him want to cry.

“Hey, what’s your name? You still haven’t told me, right?”

Satori’s heart jumped wildly.
When he unconsciously looked at Sousuke with an imploring look, Sousuke looked back at him with a gentle gaze.
Satori’s chest became painful.

“….Sa-sato …ri.”

“Sato? Is Sato your name?”

“N-no…”

“No-?”

––Only fools would believe in a human’s words.
In reality, even the child that you talked about didn’t come back in the end.
How could you trust such a human?

As if a cold hand was squeezing his heart, a voice suddenly revived in Satori’s ear.

––You’ll never know what the human that you seem to treasure so much actually thinks deep down …Ah, you can actually read his mind, can’t you? But not everything that you see is what it seems to be.
Are you still going? Even if it results in your disappearance?

Satori wanted to meet Sousuke at any cost.
While slightly shaking, he begged that he wanted to meet Sousuke just one more time.
The Dragon God looked down on Satori with a frighteningly beautiful but cold stare, and said-

––What a fool.
Then you should see the consequences for yourself.

At that moment, Satori didn’t even think that Sousuke would forget about him.

For the first time, a seed of worry grew inside of Satori.
He was worried that perhaps Sousuke didn’t want to meet him.

Satori shook his head, then nodded vigorously this time.

“Sa-sato is fine-”

“What do you mean ‘it’s fine’…”

(Which is it?)

Sousuke gave a wry smile at Satori who hurriedly replied to him.

(What a weird guy.)
