After distributing the rewards for the large-scale request was completed.
Ataru decided to check on the request he had received beforehand.

“What about the request to collect golem nuclei that we received before the large-scale request?

The staff at the reception desk quickly confirmed the request in response.

“It was confirmed.
The other party that received the same request was destroyed or the request was discarded, so the only party that was reported was Ataru's and Caro's party.
First, I will update your card records.
Both of you, please present your cards.”

As told by the receptionist, Ataru and Caro present their cards.

“……
Yes, it's done.
The reward will come from the client, Teal-san, so please pick it up at the magic tools store.

They both knew this and nodded to each other and left the guild.

“Oh, welcome! You're finally here.”

When Teal saw them enter the store, welcomed them with open arms, saying happily that he had been waiting for them.

“I'm sorry for making you wait.
It was my report that triggered the large-scale request.”

Ataru honestly apologized for taking so long, even though he had his reasons.

“No, don't worry about it.
It's enough to get the guild moving, so it must have been pretty problematic, right? I'm sure my old man would agree.”

Teal smiled pleasantly as he waved his hand in the air.
As they were talking, they could hear the sound of work being done in the workshop in the back.

“Come to the back so my father can have a look.”

With Tail's guidance, they were led to a room in the back.
There, they found Ghazals working with the same serious gaze as when they first met.

“Dad, it looks like the two of them got the nuke.
Check it out.”

“Oh, you two are, okay? My son told me about it, but I'm sorry.”

Ghazals, who breathed a sigh of relief and smiled calmly, unlike his son, Teal, was happy that they were safe.
It was probably because he was aware that this was such a tough request.

“Oh, I'm sorry I'm late.
Here's what you asked for.

Ataru quickly laid out five cores on the empty workbench.

“This is amazing.
There is not a single scratch on it.
……
I'll add some color* to the reward if it's this good!”[1]

Perhaps not expecting to bring something as good as this, Ghazals, impressed, picked up a core and checked it, breathing heavily with excitement.

“It was good.
I tried to figure out a way to get it off cleanly, and it worked out better than I expected.
……
I brought out five for now, but I actually have a few more.”

“Do you want more?” And then Ataru lined up another set of cores to follow.
This was the ones that Ataru and Caro took down together during the large-scale request.

At that time, Ataru and Caro, who had thought they had to fight the giant golem as soon as possible, went ahead and didn't think about recovering the core.
However, another adventurer had collected a relatively clean one and handed it to them on the way back.

“Wait, you still have some!? We'll buy as many as there are! If they were of such high quality, I would want any number of them.
We get more than we ask for, so if you are dissatisfied with the amount, we can give you the magic tools you want instead of money as a reward!”

“If you want it, I'll give you as much as you want.
I don't really have any use for them y'know*.”[2]

Ataru nodded without hesitation to Ghazals, who was still excited, probably because he had never been able to get such a large amount of golem cores.
As soon as Ghazals heard that, he hurriedly left the room.

“Um, where did he go?”

Ataru was taken aback by this, as he thought he was a calm, laid-back person, and asked Teal a question.

“I think my dad probably went to the warehouse.
He probably went to get some magic tools for you guys.”

After some thought, Teal made a prediction, which turned out to be correct, and Ghazals was examining which of the items in the warehouse was the best.

“The guild master also gave me some useful magic tool, so it would be nice to have something I can use.”

“Oh, the reward for that request.
What kind is it?”

Teal was interested to hear about the magic tool, so Ataru put the cup on the table.

“So, this is a magic tool that produces water.”

It seemed to be easy to predict because it was in the form of a cup, but in Teal's case, he had clearly discerned its ability as a magical tool and made a judgment.

“You can tell that by looking at it?”

“I'm not as good as my old man, but I make magic tools too, so I know a little.”

Teal, looking embarrassed, looked away from Ataru.
However, even so, the fact that he does not take his eyes off the cup suggests that he is trying to get a clue about how to make better magic tools.
Ataru may have understood this feeling and decided to let him do as he pleased.

After a while, Ghazals came running back, carrying something in his arms.

“Hahaha, sorry for the wait.”

He was a little out of breath, but laid out the magic tools he had brought in order.

I've got this, this and this, oh, I've got to put them all in order.
Teal, help me with this.”

It seemed that he had gathered a large number of various magic tools in a bag, and the two of us opened the bag as if we were going through it and put them in order.

Ataru and Caro were watching in amazement as the magic tools were laid out one after another.

“Now, take your pick.
If you can give us this many, please choose three.”

It wasn't just the ones from the guild, but all of the custom-made magic tools were expensive, and three of them would be enough to keep them busy for a while.
Ataru and Caro could not hide their bewilderment at the large number of them on display.

“Even if you say you say that I don't know what they do…….”

“Yes.”

Caro also nodded with a wry smile at the words of Ataru, who was looking at them as if troubled.

“Oh, yes.
It's usually hard to tell even by looking at them.
So let me explain the features one by one.”

After saying this apologetically, Ghazals picked up the nearest item at hand and began to explain it with great enthusiasm.

Teal knew that his father's explanation was long, and he had secretly run away.

However, for Ataru and Caro, all of the explanations were unique, so they were able to listen to them without getting bored, even if they were a little long.
It was a heated presentation with occasional questions from Ataru and Caro.

Then two hours passed.

“Okay, so I'll pick two and Caro can pick one she likes.”

After listening to all the explanations, each of them would choose the one they wanted.

“Really! Then I'd like this one!”

Caro, who didn't think she had the right to choose, excitedly chose one that would create a thin barrier of water around whatever she wore when she channeled her magic power through it.

This was not because it would increase her resistance to fire magic, but because it would allow her to lower the ambient temperature in hot places.

“I see, that's pretty handy.
Well, I'll take this one and this one.”

After patting the head of Caro, who was happily holding the magic tool she had received, Ataru chose a pendant to increase the magic power of what he wore and shoes to increase his running speed.

[1] Pretty sure that “add some color” here means that he’ll add some more on top of the reward.

[2] Just add “y’know” to add some flavor to the sentence.
