Monster Paradise Chapter 59: The same place but with different people

Having decided on a target, Lin Huang began his preparations.

He spent more time searching for information on the six-armed succubus.
He was able to find several rare videos of a battle with a succubus, and dedicated a lot of time researching it.
As he rewatched it over and again, he became even more shocked.

The video that made the largest impression on him was one where a five man team of reserve hunters met a succubus at the Forgotten Woods.

Upon discovering them, the succubus immediately attacked.
It didn’t take more than a minute for her to wipe out their team.

“Unpredictable attacks like a phantom, terrifying speed, and each arm a killing machine…” his brows furrowed as he finished watching the video.
He had to admit that the succubus was a formidable foe.

Having gathered the information he needed, he proceeded to search for more information regarding the Forgotten Woods and Soul’s Rest.

In this world, areas classified as a burial ground were incredibly dangerous.
It usually ended in a one way trip.

Soul’s Rest was one such area.
It was said that no one below the realm of transcendent had ever left that place alive.

After a cursory glance at its information, Lin Huang decided to rule out Soul’s Rest.
He did not want to enter such an accursed place.
After all he planned to live a long life.

Closing the Soul’s Rest information window, he began searching for information on the Forgotten Woods.

The Forgotten Woods was a vast four-star hinterlands.
It was even rumored to have produced a transcendent before but it got killed.
Presently, the strongest monsters in there were golden realm monsters.
Next came the WhiteSilver monsters who made up the bulk of its inhabitants.

“Four-Star Hinterlands…seems troublesome.” His brows furrowed once again as he finished reading.

Four-Star Hinterlands were currently beyond his means.
If he entered one, there was a high chance that he would die.
Even a Two-Star Hinterlands was considered dangerous grounds for him.
A BlueCopper was significantly stronger than a BlackIron monster.
While he could easily kill a Three-Star BlackIron, he wasn’t sure if he could even break through a BlueCopper’s defenses, not to mention WhiteSilvers or Golden Realms.

“Hmm, getting there is a problem as well.
Its pretty far from this stronghold; over 20,000 km away.
According to the information, it should be under the jurisdiction of a different medium stronghold…” as he thought this, he finally came to realize how big this world actually was.
The earth only had a circumference of 40,000 km.
The distance between each medium stronghold alone was three to five thousand km.
While the distance between large strongholds was an astonishing 20,000 km or more.

He had calculated that in order for him to get to the Forgotten Woods, he needed to teleport six times.
This was due to the limitation of the teleportation gates.
A medium stronghold’s gate could only reach its neighbors, and each teleportation had a high ticket cost and limited number of slots per day.
There were times when there were too many customers and one had to wait a couple of days.
Furthermore, he had a problem, small strongholds didn't possess a gate.

He could take a griffin, but their strength were not enough to last the entire trip.
He had to switch griffins every medium stronghold.
Plus the trip would take too long, he definitely would have to find accommodations.

Another alternative was to ride a magic crystal airship.
These airships came equipped with their own bunks and possessed a flying speed equivalent to a griffin.
It was a much more comfortable trip compared to riding a griffin, and had an added benefit of only requiring a 5 minute pit-stop at each medium stronghold.
But these airships had a hefty ticket price and also had limited slots.

These travel woes made him realize that he needed a flying familiar.
Of course he could just get a dimensional door like Yi Yeyu’s, but that was obviously much more difficult.

After a round of evaluation, he decided to splurge a little and ride an airship.
He was really curious about what this world’s airships were like.

Fortunately, he managed to purchase a ticket on an airship leaving 3 days later from 7C87.
In order to get to his destination, 7C82, he needed to cross 20,000km and spend 20,000 credits.

By the time he finishes booking the ticket, it was already 4 pm.
He decided to grab dinner at the Stalwart Suites.

He had a vague suspicion that the owner wasn’t a normal person and that scarred man wasn’t a normal hunter.

After a short walk, he reached the Stalwart Suites.
However, what greeted him wasn’t the familiar flower garden, but an outdoor dining area.

There were several chairs and tables arranged together in a cafe style setting.
While several young customers were scattered around, drinking and eating.

Seeing Lin Huang pause in front of their doorway, a young service lady approached him and extended a welcome, “How may I help you sir?”

“There is a new owner?” He couldn't help but ask this.
Knowing the owner’s personality, he wouldn’t turn his beloved garden into this.

“Yes sir, we've changed ownership since 10 days ago.
We’ve had old patrons like you who came over, they unanimously agreed that our new dishes are much better.
You can give them a try, I’m sure you will be satisfied.” Hearing Lin Huang's question, she knew he was an old customer and immediately made a recommendation to him.

“Thank you for your offer, but I’m here to find owner Yu…” Lin Huang declined with a wave of his hand.
Just as he was about to leave, he suddenly recalled another matter.
“I’m sorry to bother you once more, but is there a man with a scarred face staying with you right now? He used to be a guest at the Stalwart Suites.”

“A man with a scarred face? I’m sorry but I don’t think so.
If he is staying here I would definitely notice such a guest.” She shook her head as she said this.

“Oh, thank you.” As he finished thanking her, he turned around and left.
He didn’t expect both of them to be gone.
Seeing the Stalwart Suites change so drastically, he felt a tinge of sadness.

Once he got home, he spent several minutes checking the news.
Seeing that there was nothing noteworthy, he began preparing dinner.

Just as he finished preparing dinner, Lin Xin came home.

As they sat face to face having dinner, Lin Huang couldn’t resist asking her about the Stalwart Suites.

“ Xin’er , when did the Stalwart Suites change ownership?”

“Owner Yu left two days after you left.
The scarred uncle left as well.” Lin Xin had been here the whole time and knew about this matter.

“The hotel was doing so well, why did he sell it so suddenly?” To Lin Huang this whole matter felt strange.

“I heard that owner Yu had some family matters and required the money urgently, so he sold the hotel and rushed home.
That scarred man was his hired bodyguard and left with him.” Lin Xin recounted all the rumors she heard.

“Oh …” Lin Huang felt even more suspicious about this matter.
Judging by what he just learnt, the scarred man was probably instructed by owner Yu to teach him that blade skill.
However since the two of them were gone, there was no way to confirm this.

‘Forget it.
I’m busy enough without having to worry about this.’ He shook head and pushed this matter to the side.
