Overcoming The Odds(Move To New Link)

11 years have passed, Paulo is now a 19 year old teenager and in his final year of college, Fabian also relieved him from his restraunt work for some time due to his studies. Paulo is still playing football with the college team behind his fathers back and make sure that he cannot knew any this. Catherine is now all grown up into a very mature beautiful teenage girl, she and Paulo are in the same college. Catherine is still supposed to be his friend but now with time she has developed feelings for him, she wants to confess her true feelings for him but she always fails in it.

However Paulo is still focused in football and he is looking for a break through into the college team but he is constantly rejected by his coach because the coach is supposed to be Armanis uncle, even Armani try his best that Paulo could not get any sort of chance to play for the college team. Because of this Paulo feels demotivated even after performing at such level but he do not loose his hope and keeps his confidence high and believes that someday he will make it.

Today is the final day of selection for the college team and Paulo decided to give his everything to make it, he makes remarkable performance in the practice scoring 3 goals and 2 assist for his respective side that even his teammates were sure that he will make it into the team. Their coach had made his list of players who are selected for the team, every who participated were selected and Paulo is waiting for his name to be called but it seems that coach have ended with his list and there is no place for Paulo in the team. Paulo with a moment of disbelieve even all the were in shock that couldn make it into after delivering such a great performance but Paulo knew thats all because of Armani and his uncles favouritism.

The disappointed Paulo is just juggling the ball at the field and with no hope of getting in football, he is latter joined by Catherine as the college time is now over, its evening and they have to go home together. Catherine consoles Paulo she says that ”how many times I have tell Paulo football is not made for you, You deserve better than this, Don worry from now onwards well both just concentrate on our studies and get ourselves graduated from college on great acadmic results. ” but Paulo doesn even thinks leave football anytime. Catherine latter ask Paulo that if he have some time then he could join her to the lake where they suppose to play by throwing stones into that during their childhood days. Paulo just want to forget what happened with him and he agrees to come while Catherine gets happy and thinks that finally today she is going confess her love for him, she does not wanna waste her chance this time she pulls his arm and they immediately leave the college.

Right here in the Parma C.F training ground the players are practicing for their next game for the relegations play off against A.F Bolgona. Andrea Lorenzo who the number 7 for Parma C.F and is going to retire next season discuss about having much less substitute players in their team with the assitant coach Ale Piola. Piola explains to Lorenzo that they couldn afford much players as the club is now suffering from financial crisis and they are not capable to meet up the financial demands of the players due to which now they have to rely on home soil players but the club reluctantly losing their identity, every football player in the town looks to join their arch rival club ”Re del Calcio C.F ”. Meanwhile left back Macella doing his crossing practice and he accedently kicks the ball out of the training ground and the ball comes to the way of Paulo who was just going to lake with Catherine.

Ale Piola ask Paulo to bring back the ball to them but he just makes an magnificent pass which landed directly into the foot of team captain Cilo Eincho. Piola was just mesmerized by the beauty of that pass even the club captian was also surprised by that. Piola instantly ask Paulo to make that pass again, Eincho passes the ball back to Paulo, he controls the ball with an ease and passes back to Cilo Eincho. Ale Piola wants to see more from Paulo, he instantly makes an offer to Paulo to practice with them and show his footballing skills. Paulo with a certain disbelive on his mind as he still trying to figure it out that really he is getting a chance to practice with Parma C.F, the team which he dreamed off. Paulo waste no time and accepts the offer but Catherine holding his arm said that he promised her to accompany her by the lake since Paulo does not want to loose this opportunity he replies her saying ”maybe next time Cathy ”. Catherine can bear that from Paulo and her all plans goes down to drain, she gets an ill feeling towards Paulo because of his act she didn wait there even a single minute and goes back to her home.

Paulo joins them, Piola ask his name first ”Whats your name young boy ” he replies ”My name is Paulo, Paulo Romani Sir ”. After his introduction he steps on the pitch wearing his torned cleats, Piola questioned about his cleats and tells him to wear another pair but Paulo does not have any other pair of football cleats. Lorenzo give his cleats to Paulo and tell him to play with these, Paulo was delighted by his gesture and thanks him for giving his cleats , he put them on and steps on the pitch. Piola pairs him with their lone striker Fabio Rodriguez whos from Spain and the only outsider player playing for them. Piola gives both of them a task to do in which they have to score a goal by going through all other players of the team and also pair well with each other, if Paulo did pair well with him and score all 3 goals by himself then from tomorrow onwards he could join them in the training. Paulo simply accepts his challenge and was looking to make a statement while Lorenzo questioning Piola saying ”Is he capable of doing that ! ” Piola replies ”Lets see is he capable of ”. On the other hand Fabio was just looking at Paulo as he was also thinking that will he complete this challenge successfully.
