Chapter 6: Let’s Try Escaping Again

One night passed with me being confined in a room in the Royal Palace.

Inside the room were a bed, a table, a bathroom with a toilet and washbasin — they thoroughly completed the whole thing to some extent.
It’s really equipped with things appropriate for confinement.

I got up from the bed, and changed from sleepwear to more comfortable clothing.
By the way, even my clothes were thoroughly prepared.
I wonder if it’d be rude of me to ask why the size of my clothes were exact.

A knocking sound resounded from the door.

“Madam, have you woken up?”

“It’s not madam*.”

“I apologize.
Leticia-sama.
I have brought breakfast.”

As she said that, the maid brought breakfast inside the room.

“Then, please help yourself before it gets cold.”

Just as I saw the maid spread out the breakfast on the table, I was attacked with hunger.
I had particularly no desire to resist here, so I quietly sat down on the chair.

Because the maid was staring at me as I ate, I felt awkward, but I finished it in a blink of an eye since meals from the Royal Palace were delicious.

“Thank you for the meal.”

“Then I shall be taking these away now.”

She quickly came close, and like that, left for the door.

“I’m sorry!”

I shouted, and threw myself at the maid from behind.
She was thrown off balance.
My feelings of guilt as she fell down were stronger than I thought.

“Sorry, I’m really sorry.
I have nothing against you, but I just want to be free!”

I opened the door, and ran.

The lower-ranked people just watched as I lightly ran.

As I ran with tapping steps, I was beginning to guess where exactly I was in the castle right now.
I’ve walked through this castle for the past 10 years without putting up any appearances.
For the sake of moments like this, I memorized the layout of the castle.

Leticia, your 10 years wasn’t in vain!

As I was praising myself, I leaned out from a window.
I immediately leaped to the tree that was beside it.

Break-out Success!

I sneered, and then I heard a dreaded voice.

“–Leticia?”

The voice I heard came from below me, and I fearfully looked down.

“Hiiee!”

Why is Clark-sama here!?

As I was bewildered, showing no concern at all, the refreshing-as-always Clark-sama informed me with his lovely smiling face.

“I’ve never seen you put up any appearances in the past 10 years as well.”

Him being able to get the gist of things from people’s behaviors scares me.

I glared at him from atop the tree, but as I used up all my strength gripping the tree, I gradually slipped down.

I clung to the tree even after falling down as I didn’t want to see Clark-sama’s face.
For now, I’m just a big cicada.

“Leticia.”

He lifted me up from behind just as I was.
Ah, resistance is futile…

And just like that, he carried me under his arm.

“It seems I have no choice but to make you understand that you have no way out.”

He whispered something scary.

“Save meeeeeeee!”

Everyone in the castle just looked on without taking action as the happy Clark-sama carried me while I cried under his arms.

No, you should be saving me!

*What the maid actually calls her is oku-sama, which can translate to madam but in this case, she’s low key saying she’s already Clark’s wife (cause oku-sama can also mean wife), and which is why Letty says she’s not.

Lol poor maid.

EDIT: So we have until chapter 8 translated, but I might consider putting this story on a short hiatus because the author is in the midst of having this story published (they mentioned that this will be released in spring, which is in a month or so), and I don’t want them to be in any trouble, and have their deal cancelled just because I was translating it.
So for now, either we publish on schedule and then go on a 1-3 month hiatus, or we publish one a month instead since there’s only two more chapters to go.
After it gets published though, we will try and catch up to how much we should have released by then.
Feel free to let us know what you guys think.

E/N: Yes, one must pity the currently nameless maid.

Also, another escape scheme of Letty’s has been foiled.
Let’s see how her future plans work out.
