Tribulation raptor

After pushing away the broken shell, the baby raptor crawled out. The baby raptor was pale grey in color with streaks of white on its arms, sides, and legs. The god still watching noticed that this newborn would be the last dinosaur born on this planet. What a sad existence he thought, as the weak newborn called out for a mother that was no longer with the living. Its calls were meet with coldness and silence. Being a newborn, the raptors eyes were sealed with some type of mucus membrane that it tried to the claw off. After each attempt it would voice a call for help.

Seeing its struggle, the god named Bados decide to help by using his power to remove the membrane. Allowing the raptor to see for the first time. He chuckled a little when he saw it looking around the cave with curiosity. Bados watched the Raptor as it experienced many things for the first time. The first time it registered certain smells and noises. The first attempt to stand and step. Yet those moments would be tainted as the rapt smelled something that smelt similar to itself yet unfamiliar. It had smelt its mother and following that smell, it walked past its siblings that would never hatch.

Bados looked at the rest of the cave as it looked at the predator it saw enter earlier. The cave itself was medium sized with a curve blocking the view from the entrance. After that curve were three paths that lead to different parts of the cave. Unbeknownst to the baby raptor, a starved dinosaur, an albertosaurus to be exact, had entered following the smell and tracks of its deceased mother. ”Luckily, she had travelled through the different paths a lot. ” Bados said as he watched the albertosarus make its way down the left path.

The raptor had made its way to its mother, stumbling and falling along the way. The raptor now stood before its deceased mother rubbing against her while calling out for her. It continued to attempt to get its mothers attention, not understanding that she had passed away. Watching the scene, Bados was stricken with sadness as the harsh reality of life played out.

Having finished exploring the left path the albertosaurus made its way back towards the entrance. Once it reached the other two paths entrance, it walked past the two paths to smell for any differences. Walking passed the multiple paths the albertosaurus, suddenly heard some soft cries coming from the middle path. Hearing the cries, caused the albertosaurus to speed down path as its hunger spurred it to consume the weak sounding prey.

The albertosaurus rushed towards the sound, suddenly it stopped hearing it. It slowed down as it tried to find what made the noise. Walking slowly, it turned a corner and saw the body of a Velociraptor and a clutch of eggs in a nest. Unable to contain itself the Albertosaurus rushed towards the bountiful display in front of it. In its rush to eat, it failed to see the baby raptor near the body. Bados watched as the Alberto crashed into the mother raptors body, killing the baby in the process. The Alberto had grabbed up the mothers body with the baby raptors body still curled up next to it. When the Alberto lifted the body up the baby raptor fell ending up right in the path of its legs.

While its mother and sibling were to be eaten by the albertosaurus as its the last meal. The baby raptors mangled body was enveloped in a white light as its body vanished from earth. The last-born dinosaur had been revived and transported to a foreign place. Unlike anything on earth at any point of time in its history. The hatchlings body arrived in its new destination, a gods domain. It wasn just any domain either it was the domain of the beast god.

A tragic life such as this one deserves a second chance, thought Bados as he looked upon the baby raptor. Using his power, Bados pulled the Raptors soul purgatory. Where souls went before being sent to their final destination by the god of death. Being a god of nature, Bados was capable of pulling souls back the realm of the living. Even though he would have to pay a price for such actions.

Though this action didn necessarily benefit him, he was known as an erratic and energetic god that acted without hesitation. When something caught his attention, he was capable of great compassion or loathing. The soul of the raptor was now hovering next to its still mangled body. With a wave of his hand, the Raptors body was healed back to perfect condition. Merging the body and soul, Bados waited for a few seconds before the first breathe was taken. Now reborn, the raptor slept as its body and soul started the assimilation process with each other again.

”Little brother is at it again. Cher-Cher isn going to be happy about this ”, a goddess said as she felt the power that Bados was using.

” I, Bados, give my blessing to thee as one of the eternal tribunals of nature ” said Bados, after waiting for the assimilation to finish. He bestowed his blessing before preparing to walk back to his personal chambers.

”What shall I call you little one? ”, he pondered as he walked through his domain.

”hmmmm I shall call you, Rapt. ” He said, as he went back to watch the beasts on planets under jurisdiction.
